GLIDERS & ROCKERS

When purchasing a chair for your nursery, one of the biggest dilemmas most new parents face is whether to go with a glider or a rocker. They have a lot in common, and some distinct differences, but no matter which direction you go, whether it's a plush nursery glider, or a leaner more traditional rocker, you can't go wrong.

First, what they have in common. They're both designed to keep baby in motion, and babies rest in motion. (Nothing like putting little ones in the car seat and watching them vibrate their way off to dreamland!). These days many are Greenguard Certified, which means they are made from the highest quality materials. Ottomans are available for both. And they come in a wide variety of colors and styles, so they are sure to match your nursery decor.

Now the differences. Gliders, as the name would indicate, move in a front-to-back gliding motion, vs. rockers that tilt forward and backward in an arc. Gliders tend to be bigger and plusher, which can make them a tight fit in small nurseries, and it also tends to make them more expensive. Rockers are often smaller and leaner, which perhaps doesn't make them quite as cozy, but it certainly keeps the cost down.

The best way to determine whether a glider or rocker is right for you and your nursery is to sit in them. It's something you may not want to buy on the internet sight unseen, especially since their motions can be so different. So make sure to visit our Boca showroom, less than an hour north of Miami, and sample the comfort and style of our many nursery gliders and rockers on display.
